It was fantastic to see the high turnout and engaged audience on Wednesday evening at the Retail Excellence event to launch our Sustainable Irish Retail Action (SIRA) e-guide at Fallon & Byrne in Dublin.

Thanks to our fantastic compere Sonya Lennon, our keynote speaker Mark Mellet and our panel of guest speakers Fiona Matthews of Applegreen, Patricia Macieira Kane of Reuzi, Tara Clifford of SuperValu and Alan Makim of AIB. A big thank you to our sponsors Vodafone, AIB, SuperValu and Tap Creative, and to our partners Retail Excellence and Champion Green.

The launch follows months of work by Think Plan Do Consulting and Claire Cogan of BehaviourWise. Through a combined quantitative and qualitative approach, our research revealed that retailers in Ireland are highly motivated to make their businesses as sustainable as possible, but as is often the case, there are obstacles to putting that good intention into practice (in behavioural science terms, there’s an intention-action gap). Retailers told us they would find it really helpful to have on online ‘one-stop-shop’ where they could find practical information about how to be more sustainable and any supports available to them. In response we created our SIRA e-guide, which is packed full of advice, hints and tips, case studies and ideas, and provides links to supports and further information. This tool is designed to support retailers when they need to make business decisions by making the sustainable choice the easy one.  Download the e-guide from the Retail Excellence website here
